Due to inquiry increase in testing cases, we built and invested our own laboratory and provide instant services for our valued customers.

Aside from general testing criteria of activated carbon, we also provide dynamic adsorption of liquid/gas phase processes through our finest equipment so that we ensure the quality control of activated carbon would be precise and minimise the cost and time.

Testing Methods

Acro Lab provide variety of testing methods to meet all the requirement from customers, services include CNS, ASTM, AWWA, Japan JIS, JWWA and other standard methods.

At Acro Lab, we have the following tests to identify the physical properties when selecting suitable activated carbons :

To determine the ratio between moisture and weight, so we can know the performance of carbon.

Moisture Content

Make sure if hardness is high or abrasive enough for spent activated carbon to be reactivated. Activated carbon is abrasive. while processing reactivation.

Hardness

Standard measurement of activated carbon for size and shape. The bigger the particle size, the slower the absorption will be.

Particle Size

Similar to the idea of Methylene blue No., to determine the absorption ability of activated carbon. Mainly used to identify the its ability to high molecular weight substances.

Molasses Number

A way to determine the absorption

ability itself. Aside from Molasses number test, it is also applicable to absorption of macromolecules, such as dyeing wastewater.

Methylene Blue No.

The index of poro, which is able to determine the absorption ability to organic matters. This is commonly used as judgment of the quality.

Iodine Number

The density of activated carbon when loaded into container or packed packaging. It is related to degree of activation, under the same carbon property, the higher the degree of activation, the lower the density will be. Vice versa

Bulk Density

To verify and determine if the remaining metallic oxide inside activated carbon is relative high.

Ash content

To verify the pH value of activated carbon in the liquid. Basically the pH value of carbon after activation shall reach to 9 and we can customise if customer requires.
